About us
Collaboration
We are collaborative by nature, among ourselves and with our clients, knowing that it enhances our process and leads to better buildings – on brief, on time, and on budget. Our crucial first step involves listening to our clients to understand their needs and how they work, and get to the heart of the project.
We have an open-studio policy, free from hierarchy. One team handles all aspects of your project, from design to delivery, drawing on expertise from across the business.
This collaborative spirit extends to our regional network of partners, which are all based less than 30 miles from our office. And we pride ourselves on working closely with local communities and artists.
Stretto Fundamentals
At Stretto, we never stop evaluating our design processes, questioning our assumptions, and seeking out the right solutions. We adapt to meet the needs of your project, drawing on our breadth of experience. And all our decision-making is underpinned by these three focus areas:
Innovation
Ours is a creative practice, where problem-solving unlocks novel solutions and innovation is key to driving change and making improvements. We prioritise professional development , tailoring our learning to support our specialities and ensuring we’re always up to date with the latest technologies, materials, and industry changes.
For us, breaking from the norm isn’t just about how we design but also the results of our work – from more sustainable solutions to creating social value. We’ve used innovative construction systems to help communities build their own houses and have experience working with alternative materials.
Sustainability
From the reuse and improvement of existing buildings to the new spaces we create, we evaluate every stage of the design and construction process to reduce the carbon impact and minimise energy use. We consider this a moral imperative as well as our passion.
Whether your project is an eco self-build or a large urban development, we focus on whole life carbon, waste reduction, renewable energy, water, and responsibly sourced materials to get the most out of your project with the least damage to the environment.
Social value
We place social value at the heart of our practice, both ensuring our buildings make a positive contribution, improving outcomes for their users, and fostering powerful relationships with our community and the wider construction industry.
From community engagement and local supplier sourcing to caring about our employees’ wellbeing, we strive to create buildings that maximise occupant control and a workplace that’s supportive and inclusive, and centres individuals.
